[Year in Review] Kosher Restaurant Closures in 2020

2020 was an awful year across the board, with so many losing loved ones to COVID-19. Small businesses, restaurants especially, took the brunt of the lockdowns, restrictions, constantly changing rules and laws. Kudos to the restaurateurs that have been able to keep their doors open through this, and since this isn’t over, we’re hoping they survive the full breadth of this pandemic.

With that said, many restaurants were not lucky enough to make it out this year. While the pandemic and related restrictions and consumer behavior is likely due to many of these closures, some of these restaurants have merely just run their course.

The following Kosher restaurants have permanently closed in 2020;
Note: restaurants noted with ** have pivoted in some way to keep their business alive, typically with catering. Additionally, restaurants that have not reopened since COVID hit that have not permanently shut their doors are not on the below list (e.g. Nobo, Great American Health Bar, Mamilla Restaurant, etc.).
