The Kitchen Table, one of the most unique Kosher restaurants of modern day, will be closing its doors for good this Sunday, June 3rd, according to their Facebook post yesterday. I recently had the opportunity to try and review TKT, and was glad I did before they close. Both the service and the food were [...]

A trip through Mahane Yehuda, more commonly just called “the shuk,” is an experience like no other, and one you can spend 10 minutes or a whole day completing. I often pass [...]

Since the unfortunate closure of the Milk Street Cafe in the Financial District, many who work on Wall Street have been without a Kosher lunch option. As you may remember, the owner of the cafe protested not only Occupy Wall Street's activities outside his storefront, but also the NYPD baracades that made it difficult for [...]

Pantry Foods, a new vegetarian healthy option just opened in Toronto's Bathurst neighborhood and looks to go head-to-head with some of New York's healthy vegetarian Kosher establishments. UPDATE: Reopened. Just because it's Kosher doesn't mean it's cleaner. That's certainly the case with Shalom Chai Pizza at 357 Grand Street in the Lower East Side, New York City. The kosher eatery, with decent reviews on MenuPages, was closed down after 75 violations were found by the City Health Department today. Some of the [...]

Article by @AmySpiro, Israel correspondent Move over Ben Yehuda Street, there’s a new hotspot in Jerusalem, and it’s Emek Refaim. Of course that’s if hotspot means teeming with yeshiva and seminary students and tourists. The long street is located just South of the center of the city, about a 15 minute walk from downtown. Close [...]

I know. Burger King hasn't been in Israel in nearly 2 years since the Israeli burger chain, Burger Ranch (pronounced Booger R'aanch by Israelis), bought out BK in 2010, which was sad because I LOVED Burger King on Ben Yehuda 10+ years ago when I studied in Israel. Last year on my visit to Israel, [...]

An odd name, and an odd location (for a Kosher restaurant), Jezebel is seeking to create another unique kosher experience in NYC, along the likes of Pardes, Mike's Bistro, and Basil. According to this recent WSJ article, Jezebel may be the first kosher restaurant to serve nonmevushal wine (unpasterized kosher wine), which is a huge [...]

Article and photos by @AmySpiro, Israel correspondent There are many restaurants that get their clientele from their locations on main thoroughfares. But it’s the ones hidden away from the public eye – and heard about by way of mouth – that often have the tastiest fare. Such is the case with Pasta Basta, a tiny hole-in-the-wall [...]
