New Kosher Food Market Is Opening to Montreal: Foogo

If you do your Shabbat shopping in Montreal, you’re going to want to know about this. Foogo, a brand-new kosher food market, is set to open this coming June at Decarie Square in Côte Saint-Luc — and it’s shaping up to be one of the most convenient one-stop destinations for kosher shoppers in the city.

The concept brings together some of Montreal’s best-known kosher caterers under one roof, alongside a bakery and a flower shop. Think freshly prepared foods, salads, Mediterranean specialties, baked goods, and ready-to-take-home items — all in a single location. For anyone who’s spent Friday mornings running from one end of the city to the other to pull together a Shabbos spread, the appeal is obvious.

The market is currently under construction inside Decarie Square. Owner Jimmy Levy confirmed the opening plans, with the businesses operating Tuesday through Friday.

All vendors at Foogo will be certified kosher under the MK (Montreal Kosher), one of Montreal’s primary kosher certifying agencies.

We’ll have more details as the opening approaches. Watch this space.
