Kosher Food Now Available at Eagles Games & other events at Lincoln Financial Field in Philly

September 11th, 2011 | No Comments | Posted in News, Pennsylvania, USA by Dani Klein - Admin

For the die-hard kosher observant Eagles fans in the Philadelphia region, we’re excited to announce that a local favorite, Max and David’s, has secured a permanent concession stand right outside Section 117 at Lincoln Financial Field. M&D’s will be there for all events (excluding Shabbat of course) including NFL Eagles games, MLS Union soccer games, concerts, etc.

On the menu includes their delicious hot dogs, in-house made Italian sausages, smoked BBQ pulled brisket sandwiches, as well as their in-house made Veggie-burger topped with hummus and Israeli salad.

For desserts, they’re offering homemade chocolate chip cookies, brownies and single serve dishes of their nondairy ice cream.

“BURGER.org” & “CHICKEN.org” in Philadelphia, PA [Review]

September 6th, 2011 | 2 Comments | Posted in Pennsylvania, Reviews by Dani Klein - Admin

This past Labor Day I spent a few days checking out Philly and it’s growing Kosher scene. Brand new in downtown Philly is Burger.org and Chicken.org – sister restaurants around the corner from each other offering meat and fowl menus respectively. Don’t bother visiting the websites at “.org” as they don’t own them. I was explained by the owners that “.org” means “organic”. This is only the beginning of the woes in store here. (Burger.org’s website is actually http://burgerorg.com – go figure)

{We wrote about the opening of these places not long ago: Burger.org Opening and Chicken.org Opening}

Walking from center city (specifically the Independence Mall area) it’s a 10-15 min walk to South Street where both of these restaurants are located. I first stopped by Chicken.org. The first thing I noticed was the lack of A/C. A big no-no in my book. I can’t enjoy a meal indoors if I’m being cooked along with the food. Secondly, there were numerous trays of different types of chicken dishes behind the counter. I couldn’t tell if this was a sit down restaurant or a take out place. The seats and tables imply restaurant … But lastly I notice that the place was empty. Not one person sitting and eating. I also didn’t see a menu.

I proceeded to try my luck at Burger.org around the corner. As I walked in it was truly a breath of fresh air. Not only was the place air conditioned, but it was bright, colorful, inviting, packed with people and smelled great. I couldn’t wait to check out the menu and start the meal.

Grand Opening of “Burger.org” in Philly, PA

August 22nd, 2011 | No Comments | Posted in News, Pennsylvania by Dani Klein - Admin

Following last week’s announcement of “Chicken.org” opening in Philadelphia, the same owners have converted its other meat-themed establishment, “Burger.org” into a Glatt Kosher burger joint as of today.

The Israeli owners of these establishments have added 2 fleishig restaurants to Philly within a matter of a few days.

Burger.org is located at 326 South Street, Philadelphia, PA. The Community Kashrus of Greater Philadelphia is providing the restaurant with kosher supervision.

We’re looking forward to hearing good things coming from this new chain and from the growing kosher scene in Philadelphia.
