A new gourmet kosher restaurant has opened up right outside Tel Aviv in Ramat Hachayal: The Shallot Restaurant. Owned and operated by chef Michael Imayev, who already has 4 restaurants operating in Moscow, he has decided to move his talents to Israel. The menu has blended some modern dishes with dishes he grew up with back home combining Russian cuisine with a touch of Middle Eastern influence.
Dishes include Chicken Kiev and Bestorma, a filet minion in a pomegranate reduction, as well as a large part of the menu which includes hand made dough based dishes. Dishes like Chudo, a non-rise pastry that is crispy and filled with beef, or Korza- another dough pastry filled with beef. If you aren’t into all of these ambitious dishes, then the restaurant offers a large variety of grilled meats and house specials.
