Smash House Burgers is opening another Brooklyn location, this time in the former Perizia Kosher Pizza space in Brooklyn. Renovations at the site are expected to take a few months.
The Space’s Kosher History
Perizia Kosher Pizza operated at the East 16th Street corner for years, serving kosher pies, knishes, falafel and salads under Kehilah Kashrus supervision. The pizzeria’s three other Brooklyn locations, on Coney Island Avenue, Avenue M and Avenue J, remain in operation.
The ownership connection runs deeper than a handoff. Perizia’s owner is also the franchisee behind Smash House’s existing Brooklyn restaurant on Coney Island Avenue, per the report, which counts the East 16th Street spot as the brand’s 13th location.

What to Expect on the Menu
Smash House has built a loyal following on maximalist kosher fast food. The menu centers on smash burgers layered with toppings like crispy pastrami, caramelized onions, jalapeños and house-made sauces, plus loaded chicken sandwiches, fries served plain or topped with beef bacon and pulled beef, and the Crazy Shakes dessert line stacked with cereal toppings and whipped cream. Signature orders include the Triple Smash burger and the Smash Chicken Fries, which turn a fast-casual meal into a full production built for the camera.
The brand’s Coney Island Avenue restaurant, its first in Brooklyn, keeps late-night hours, running past midnight most of the week and after Shabbat on Saturdays. For the Marine Park, Ocean Avenue, Bedford Avenue and Nostrand Avenue crowds, the East 16th Street spot puts a Smash House considerably closer to home.
