Miyoka, a new kosher Asian restaurant, has opened on Jerusalem’s Mamilla promenade, a short walk from Jaffa Gate and the Old City. The menu includes sushi, ramen, wok dishes and more. Restaurants around the promenade often serve burgers or Italian food, and Miyoka offers a different option in the same central location.

A menu that goes beyond sushi

Sushi anchors the menu, from simple maki to larger house rolls. The Miyoka Roll combines salmon, cucumber and avocado inside with tuna, white fish, salmon and avocado on top, finished with wasabi aioli. The vegetarian version uses avocado, shiitake mushrooms, asparagus and cucumber with ponzu and crispy shallots. A truffle tuna roll and a miso-glazed salmon roll round out the sushi choices.

The hot side of the menu runs through bao buns, crispy nems, wok dishes, ramen and khao soi curry noodles. A diner can stop in for a roll or order a full sit-down meal for a group with different preferences. Miyoka offers dining on site, pickup and delivery, and the kitchen also cooks Asian broths for hours.

The menu also includes beef bao filled with pulled beef, Korean pickled cucumber and spicy mayo. Vegetarian gyoza are steamed vegetable dumplings served with soy and sesame sauce. Ramen combines chicken broth with egg noodles, a soft egg and bok choy, plus shiitake mushrooms and grilled chicken thigh. Pad Thai can be ordered with chicken or tofu, while khao soi offers chicken, beef or tofu in yellow curry with mushrooms and scallions.

Joining the Luciana group in Mamilla

Miyoka joins the Luciana group’s other restaurants in the Mamilla area, including Joy Grill House and Berlin Burger. It occupies the former Arcaffe space and adds an Asian concept to a cluster known for meat and Italian dining.
