If you’ve been following the kosher smash burger scene for the past few years, you already know what Smash House Burgers is about. The chain that launched in North Miami Beach in 2022 and has been on an absolute tear ever since is now making its biggest geographic leap yet: their first West Coast location is opening in Los Angeles this month, right in the heart of Pico-Robertson.
This is location number ten for Smash House, which currently has outposts across New York (5 Towns, Queens, two Manhattan spots, Brooklyn, Monsey, and Lakewood), plus Miami and Boca Raton in Florida. Going coast-to-coast is a serious milestone, and landing in Pico-Robertson — the epicenter of LA’s observant Jewish community — means they’re walking straight into one of the most competitive kosher dining markets in the country.

For LA kosher diners who’ve been hearing about Smash House from every New York friend and Florida cousin, the wait is basically over. The concept is built around the smashed burger — thin patties pressed hard on a flat-top griddle for maximum crust and caramelization, stacked and loaded with toppings. Their menu staples include the Loaded Smashed (double smashed with vegan cheese, caramelized onion, beef bacon, and their signature Smash Sauce), the Philly Cheese Sando, Blooming Onion, popcorn chicken, and a solid kids menu. The kind of menu that hits whether you’re grabbing a quick dinner or going full send on a family combo.

It’s worth noting what it means for the West Coast to finally have a Smash House. LA has a large observant community, and a chain with Smash House’s track record: nine active locations, a loyal following, and a streamlined operation; coming to the heart of the Jewish community is the kind of opening that changes the neighborhood’s dining landscape.
The new location will be at 8809 W Pico Blvd, Los Angeles, CA (just off the corner of Robertson Blvd) but no official opening date at this time. When the doors open, expect a line.
