Kosher travelers flying through London’s secondary airports have long faced a frustrating gap. Heathrow has stocked kosher sandwiches for years, but passengers on budget carriers out of Luton (LTN) and Stansted (STN), including the many low-cost flights to Tel Aviv and across Europe, have largely been on their own.
That gap just closed.
DD’s sandwiches from Hermolis Kosher Foods are now available at Caffè Nero locations at both London Luton Airport and London Stansted Airport.
What’s in the Fridge
The lineup features Hermolis’s seeded bagel sandwiches, including egg salad, salt beef with mustard, and smoked salmon with cream cheese and capers. These are the same DD’s products that UK kosher travelers already know from Heathrow, where Hermolis has stocked Caffè Nero locations across multiple terminals for years. All items are prepackaged and sealed, so you can grab one with your coffee and take it to the gate or onto the plane.

Where to Find Them
Placement matters here, and the two airports differ. At Luton, the sandwiches are stocked at the Caffè Nero located landside, before security. Grab your food before heading through the checkpoint. At Stansted, the Caffè Nero carrying DD’s is airside, after security, which is exactly where you want it when you’re waiting out a delay at the gate. Stansted is the bigger story of the two: it’s a major base for low-cost carriers serving Israel and Jewish communities across Europe, and reliable kosher food inside security there has been essentially nonexistent until now.
Airports Are Finally Catching On
This launch fits a pattern we’ve been tracking all year: airports are waking up to kosher demand. In the US, PKS Kosher Market opened at Philadelphia’s PHL airport in May as the first fully kosher storefront in a US airport, Atlanta’s ATL now stocks kosher sandwiches at every concourse, and kosher grab and go recently returned to Fort Lauderdale’s FLL airport nearly a decade after the airport dropped its last kosher stand.
The New York area airports have offered kosher options for many years, with Star-K certified Fresko sandwiches, wraps, and meals stocked across JFK, Newark, and LaGuardia, and more recently fresh kosher meals in the AMEX Centurion Lounges at JFK and LGA. Internationally, Istanbul’s IST airport, a major connection point for Turkish Airlines passengers heading to Tel Aviv, has offered kosher sandwiches via vending machine and hot kosher meals in select lounges since 2022.
For UK travelers, the takeaway is simple: flying out of Luton or Stansted no longer requires packing your own food. Between Heathrow, Luton, and Stansted, London’s three busiest departure points for kosher travelers are now covered.
