[GUIDE] Special Kosher Vacation Experience at Baha Mar Resort, Bahamas

Activities at Baha Mar

Baha Mar is a large resort that is hosting thousands of people at any given time. As a result, there’s no lack of things to do on-site to keep you occupied.

If you’re looking to just relax and chill, the resort has 10 pools of various vibes and designs. Some of the pools are vast and family-friendly, some are quiet and meant as adults only, and some are loud dance-club experiences. There’s something for everyone. The pools are stocked with many loungechairs that are all first come first served, so some of the prime chairs may be grabbed early in the day, but there’s more than enough for all. Additionally, cabanas at certain pools can be rented out for the day as well.

With the new kosher investments at the property, any poolside assistant can either grab you a prepared kosher meal or you can walk to the kosher dairy food truck located beachside. More on that in a bit.

Alongside the pools is the resort’s beach and marina, another area with more lounge chairs and easy access to kosher food.

Baha Bay water park

For those seeking a less relaxing experience during the day, there are a number of facilities on-site to take advantage of. The first is Baha Bay, Baha Mar’s water park located alongside the marina. Filled with a number of action-packed as well as kid-friendly rides, there’s something for everyone, including lots of lounge chairs to chill between rides. The resort also has a robust sports facility and a large award-winning 18-hole golf course. The sports facility includes tennis & pickleball courts, basketball courts, bocce, croquet, mini golf, and more. It’s important to note here that Baha Bay is free to access for those staying at Baha Mar, whereas the sports facilities typically require an extra charge to reserve and play.

Other activities include water sports that can be booked beachside, a number of wildlife experiences on premises that include a flamingo hangout; a sea creature sanctuary where you can interact with nurse sharks, stingrays, green sea turtles, and Caribbean fish; and

The resort also has a free-to-use (for guests) fitness facility that has great machines, weights, and mats for any type of workaround you need.

The one activity that’s impossible to miss is the Caribbean’s largest casino, located in the center of the resort connecting the 3 hotels. Day or night, guests and visitors can play traditional table games, and slots, although we really observed the activity here after the sun went down every day. The casino is flanked by high-end retail outlets and (mostly non-kosher) eateries, including 2 Starbucks locations.

If doing nothing other than watching the environment around you is your thing, you can do all of the following every single night:

  • People watch – there are all types of people from all over at this resort. This is an activity in and of itself
  • Watch the music-synced fountain laser show – the water fountains are synced to pop songs and provide visual entertainment every night around sundown
  • Watch the water turn to fire – behind the casino there’s a small pool that lights on fire every night after dark; it’s a unique sight to see
  • Watch and listen to the music at the Jazz bar in the main lobby – easy and free entertainment, every single night
