Brooklyn’s Izzy’s BBQ, widely heralded as the world’s best kosher BBQ, is expanding with a new kosher eatery in Crown Heights: Izzy’s Taqueria — a new authentic Mexican concept utilizing Izzy’s wood smoked meats and tacos.
Taking over the retail space next to its flagship restaurant at 399 Troy Ave in Brooklyn, Izzy’s Taqueria will be paying homage to true Mexican cuisine, with dishes inspired from both sides of the Rio Grande.
While a taco joint, the menu at Izzy’s Taqueria offers diners a base options of Homemade Corn Tortilla (soft tacos), Rice Bowl, Or Salad; followed by a Protein (recommended preparation in parenthesis):
- Smoked Sliced Brisket (Salsa Verde and Chopped Onion Cilantro)
- Pulled Pastrami (Chipotle Russian Pickled Onion, and Green Tomato Salsa Verde)
- Chicken Adobo (Mango Habanero Salsa)
- Lamb Barbacoa (Mole, Pickled Radish and Carrots)
- Chorizo Sausage (Pico Di Gallo and Pickled Red Onion)
After a protein Salsas and Sauces (2 per Taco/ 3 per Bowl) including: Pico de Gallo, Salsa Verde, Pickled Green Tomato, Salsa Verde, Red Salsa, Mango Habanero, Grilled Pineapple, Black Eyed Bean, Mole, Adobo, Chili Lime, and Chipotle Russian.
Finally, top your dish with a Garnish or two (1 per Taco/ 2 per bowl): Pickled Red Onion, Pickled Carrot and Radish, Pickled Jalapeno, and Shaved Radish.
All dishes come with a side / topping of sliced lime, chopped onion, and cilantro.

Izzy’s Taqueria is expecting to open to the public in the next 2-3 weeks.
The new eatery will mirror Izzy’s BBQ’s hours of operation and hashgacha: Sunday, 1PM to 11PM, Monday to Thursday, 12PM to 11PM. Under the kosher supervision of the OK.
