Kosher Chinese Returns to the Seattle Area with “Veggie Life”

Seattle’s kosher dining scene just got a major boost. Veggie Life, a new kosher vegan Chinese restaurant, is officially opening its doors in Kirkland this Sunday, May 4. This marks the return of kosher Chinese cuisine to the region after a five-year absence following the closure of the beloved Bamboo Garden.

Veggie Life is certified by the Vaad HaRabanim of Greater Seattle and will operate as a fully pareve and vegan establishment. For a city that has historically had limited kosher dining options, this is a major win for both locals and visitors.

A Fully Vegan Chinese Menu

The Veggie Life menu offers a wide variety of Chinese-inspired dishes, all plant-based and kosher pareve. Diners can enjoy favorites like General Tso’s mushrooms, sweet and sour tofu, garlic eggplant, and sesame soy protein. There are also noodle dishes, fried rice options, dumplings, and vegetable-centric stir-fries.

Appetizers include items like spring rolls, cucumber salad, and wonton soup, while the entrée selection brings bold flavors with dishes such as kung pao soy protein, ma po tofu, and vegetable lo mein. For those looking for healthier options, steamed vegetables and brown rice are available.

The menu is designed to be satisfying, familiar, and comforting while remaining completely vegan and free from any dairy or meat products—making it accessible to a broad range of kosher diners.

A Kosher Boost After Passover

Veggie Life is the second kosher restaurant to open in the Seattle area since the end of Passover this year, indicating a positive trend for the region’s kosher community. With such few kosher-certified options available, each new opening has a meaningful impact.

By offering Chinese cuisine in a fully vegan format, Veggie Life also meets the growing demand for plant-based and allergy-conscious kosher dining. This versatility may attract not only the local Jewish population but also health-conscious and vegan customers across the Seattle metro area.

Location and Certification Info

Veggie Life is located at 8518 122nd Ave NE, Kirkland, WA 98033.

The restaurant is kosher certified by the Vaad HaRabanim of Greater Seattle.

Hours of operation are daily from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., with the last seating at 8:30 p.m. Online orders at Veggie Life can be made here.
