New Modern Japanese Kosher Restaurant in Miami: HIKARI

A New High-End Kosher Japanese Experience in Surfside

HIKARI, a modern Japanese kosher restaurant, is preparing to open its doors in Surfside, FL with a focus on elevated omakase and à la carte dining. Built in the former Backyard BBQ space, the restaurant has undergone a full transformation led by a design team from Mexico City, featuring contemporary interiors, curated music, and a nightlife-inspired ambiance.

Curated Japanese Cuisine Featuring Wagyu and More

HIKARI’s menu will include both omakase and à la carte options. Diners can expect a variety of Japanese dishes including sashimi, nigiri, hand rolls, cooked fish, and more. The omakase experience will allow guests to enjoy a chef-selected tasting menu showcasing a range of high-quality, seasonal ingredients.

Items currently being considered for the final menu include lamb chops, tempura mushrooms, edamame, and premium Wagyu beef. A standout offering will be the tempura mushroom Wagyu, delivering rich flavors with traditional Japanese preparation techniques.

Full Liquor License and Signature Cocktails

HIKARI will operate with a full liquor license and plans to offer signature cocktails and a beverage line curated to match the cuisine. The restaurant is expected to launch publicly this coming week.

Location and Kosher Certification

HIKARI is located at 9472 Harding Avenue, Surfside, FL. The restaurant is certified kosher by Kosher Miami (KM). Reservations are expected to go live starting Sunday.
