New Handcrafted Kosher Italian Eatery “Molino” Launches in Los Angeles

A new destination for kosher Italian cuisine has officially opened its doors in Los Angeles. Molino, located in the heart of Pico-Robertson, debuted on April 29, 2025, and is offering a unique spin on pizza and pasta rooted in traditional Italian technique and quality ingredients.

From Home-Based to Brick-and-Mortar

Molino has grown from its beginnings as a home-based kitchen concept into a fully operational restaurant space. While the spot offers limited casual dine-in availability at the front of the restaurant, it is primarily geared toward pickup and delivery service. Orders can be placed directly via their Toast site, which offers lower pricing than third-party delivery apps like UberEats, DoorDash, Postmates, and Grubhub.

The restaurant’s mission is clear: produce high-quality food using premium ingredients, while maintaining an efficient operation with limited output. Patrons are advised that quantities may sell out, especially during busy hours, as Molino prioritizes freshness and small-batch preparation over volume.

The Menu: Quality and Simplicity

The concise and focused menu centers on handcrafted Italian comfort food. Molino’s pizzas are built on a fermented dough that rises for 48 hours and is cooked in a Forno Bravo Neapolitan brick oven. Each pizza is topped with ingredients like hand-crushed San Marzano DOP tomatoes, fior di latte mozzarella, Calabrian chili oil, Sicilian oregano, and other thoughtfully sourced items.

Standouts include the Olive pizza with taggiasca olives and lemon zest, the Pesto pizza with house-made Genovese pesto and shaved parmesan, and the spicy Bianca pizza with optional hot honey. Diners can also build their own pie, choosing from toppings like tuna, shallots, and Calabrian chilis.

Beyond pizza, Molino features a limited but refined selection of pasta and sandwich options. The Mezzi Rigatoni alla Vodka and Cavatelli all’Arrabbiata are both prepared with premium cheeses and bold, peppery sauces. The Caprese panuzzo, a house-made pizza dough sandwich with arugula, tomato, and mozzarella, adds another layer of Italian street food flair. Dessert comes in the form of the Calzone al Cioccolato—Molino’s take on a dessert calzone stuffed with hazelnut chocolate spread.

Molino also offers pantry items for sale, including their homemade pesto, Calabrian chili oil, and Parmigiano Reggiano DOP.
