PopUp Bagels’ Plain Cream Cheese Now Kosher Certified – Available at Kosher Locations in NY & CT

PopUp Bagels, the trendy bagel chain known for its fresh, pull-apart bagels and flavorful schmears, has just announced a major development for kosher consumers: their plain cream cheese is now officially kosher certified. The announcement was made via the brand’s Instagram account, featuring a photo of their familiar “PopUp Bagels” branded cream cheese containers labeled “PLAIN” and “CONTAINS DAIRY.”

This new certification means kosher-observant customers can now enjoy their plain cream cheese at PopUp Bagels’ kosher-certified locations, where applicable. While the certification applies to the product itself across all stores, it’s important to note that only some PopUp Bagels locations are under kosher supervision.

Currently, PopUp Bagels operates multiple kosher-certified locations in New York and Connecticut, including popular outposts on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and Roslyn (Long Island). These locations offer certified kosher bagels and the newly certified cream cheese, as well as kosher certified (OU) packaged lox. However, not all PopUp Bagels locations are kosher — some locations throughout the Northeast and other U.S. regions operate without kosher certification, and kosher-observant consumers should confirm the status of individual stores before ordering.

This move is part of PopUp’s broader commitment to making its brand accessible across a wide range of dietary preferences, without compromising on quality or style. Known for their no-frills menu, minimalist design, and “not famous but known” ethos, PopUp Bagels continues to grow its reach while maintaining a boutique feel.

Kosher consumers in New York and Connecticut can now more confidently enjoy the full PopUp experience, including their bagels and now-certified plain cream cheese — but should continue to verify the kosher status of each location directly.
