
The NYC Gluten-Free favorite is bringing its all-day brunch and bagels to Bergen County, with a grand opening after Pesach 2025.
Bringing a Taste of Modern to the Suburbs
Modern Bread & Bagel, the popular gluten-free and kosher café known for its artisan bagels and creative all-day brunch, is heading to Englewood, NJ, marking its first New Jersey location.
Slated to open soon after Passover, this new outpost will launch in the heart of downtown Englewood, bringing Modern’s signature approach to gluten-free baking and upscale casual dining to northern New Jersey.

What’s Coming to the Menu
Once it opens, the Englewood location is expected to mirror the menu that has made Modern a destination on NYC’s Upper West Side and in Los Angeles.

Menu highlights include:
- Signature Bagel Sandwiches – with top picks like the Jerusalem Egg Salad, Pastrami Lox, and Israeli Grilled Cheese
- All-Day Brunch – served daily through early afternoon
- Snack Time – featuring light bites and pastries from mid-afternoon to early evening
- ”Modern @ Night” will not be featured at this location but they will eventually have evening dinner hours
Everything on the menu will remain gluten-free and kosher, prepared with strict standards to avoid cross-contamination.

Opening Details
Modern Bread & Bagel is expected to fully open at 45-E Palisade Ave, Englewood, NJ, just after the Passover holiday in late April 2025. The café will operate under kosher supervision by RCBC. The Englewood Modern Bread & Bagel branch is the only RCBC Certified Modern Bread & Bagel to the exclusion of all other locations. Location will not be Cholov Yisroel but the restaurant / bakery has separate dairy and parve kitchens. Everything dairy will be very clearly marked as such.
Expected hours of operation are 8am-4pm. Closed Saturdays and Mondays. Branch will eventually open on Mondays but to start, will be closed.
