LIMITED SEATINGS: Experience Jerusalem at NYC’s 12 Chairs Cafe’s Kosher Pop-Up with Chef Avi Levi

Kosher Pop-Up at a Non-Kosher Restaurant in Manhattan

For foodies seeking a unique kosher dining experience in New York City, there’s an exciting opportunity this March. 12 Chairs Cafe, a well-known non-kosher Israeli restaurant in the heart of SoHo, is hosting a special kosher pop-up event from March 3-6. This exclusive event will feature Chef Avi Levi, the culinary genius behind Jerusalem’s celebrated kosher restaurant, Hamotzi.

Chef Levi brings a distinctive culinary style that blends Algerian-Moroccan influences with the rich flavors of Jerusalem, offering a one-of-a-kind dining experience. His approach to kosher cuisine stands out for its bold flavors, aromatic spices, and vibrant colors. Each dish is an invitation to experience Jerusalem’s vibrant energy through food, with traditional recipes that reflect his North African roots while embracing the essence of local Israeli flavors.

This kosher pop-up at 12 Chairs is unique for several reasons. While 12 Chairs Cafe is a non-kosher establishment, this event marks the third time the venue has hosted a pop-up, but this is their first kosher event, offering diners the chance to enjoy an exclusive meal that meets the highest standards of kosher supervision. The pop-up is certified kosher by Rabbi Sholtiel Lebovic, director of goKosher.org, who will serve as the mashgiach temidi, ensuring all dishes are prepared under strict kosher guidelines. It’s a rare opportunity to enjoy kosher dining in a non-kosher restaurant, and Chef Levi’s menu is set to impress with its cultural and culinary depth.

Each evening, two seatings will be available: one at 6:30 PM and the other at 9:00 PM. The event is expected to host up to 80 guests per night, making it an intimate affair for those lucky enough to secure a reservation. It’s worth noting that tickets for the Monday seating are already sold out, and Thursday’s second seating is also fully booked. Reservations can be made through Resy, so it’s essential to act quickly if you want to experience this culinary event.

The pop-up will also feature a fun, energetic atmosphere, with a DJ adding to the lively vibe of the evening. Known for its welcoming, community-oriented environment, 12 Chairs will transport guests to Jerusalem with its “door is always open” feel, creating an inviting space for those who appreciate authentic Israeli cuisine and vibe. It’s a celebration of food, culture, and togetherness, all set to the beat of Israeli music.

The pre-fixe menu will include kosher wine, although taxes and tips are not included in the ticket price. Chef Levi’s menu promises to deliver a rich variety of bold, North African-inspired dishes that reflect Jerusalem’s diverse culinary scene.

This event marks the first kosher pop-up at 12 Chairs’ private room, and with its success, there may be more kosher pop-up events in the future.
