Popular kosher vegan hotspot, By Chloe, took NYC by storm in 2015 with a bunch of eateries across the city, originally built by Chef Chloe Coscarelli.
The business was taken over, Chef Chloe was pushed out, and eventually, the brand changed to “Beatnic” which still exists and runs a few kosher vegan shops in the city.
Now, arisen anew, Chef Chloe is back, reopening a kosher vegan eatery aptly named “CHLOE” in the original location of the first “by Chloe” shop in Manhattan’s West Village. CHLOE opened yesterday, with some new and familiar menu items (see below).
From Chef Chloe’s announcement: “As many of you know, my former restaurant By Chloe was co-opted by a deceitful partner in 2017. It was an abrupt halt to what had otherwise been a magical experience. I still remember leaving our flagship store for the last time and feeling an overwhelming sense of unease. It didn’t seem right to mourn the end when I knew, deep down, that I had only just begun. Standing on the corner of Bleecker and MacDougal, I promised myself that someday, somehow, I would return. And when I did, it would be on my own terms.
Well… that day has come!!
I’m beyond ecstatic to announce the official grand opening of my new restaurant, CHLOE—located at 185 Bleecker Street, the same corner where I opened By Chloe exactly nine years ago. CHLOE is an all-day café serving classic eats with thoughtfully sourced ingredients (all vegan, of course!).”
Menu items at CHLOE look oddly familiar to the old by Chloe menu, including the Avocado Burger, Kale Caeser and Quinoa Taco salads, but also a bunch of new items like all of the apps: Summer Corn Mac, Truffle Avo Toast, and Butternut Nachos, as well as new sides like Roasted Tomato-Basil Soup, and Spicy Cashew Kelp Noodles.
CHLOE is located at 185 Bleecker Street, New York, NY (also the original by Chloe location 9 years ago).
CHLOE is open Tuesday – Sunday, 12pm – 9pm (Closed Mondays).
CHLOE is a fully pareve vegan restaurant, kosher certified by IKC, the same kosher certification for the previous by Chloe.
