After 62 years, Sal Meijer, (pronounced Meyer) a beloved deli in Amsterdam, closed its doors recently due to lack of finances and proper kashrut certification.
The restaurant had been established in 1957, and was an icon among kosher and non-kosher town members. It will be sorely missed.
