Kupel’s Bakery is a popular bagel shop and bakery at 421 Harvard St in Brookline, MA, and has begun operating on Shabbos… but it maintains its kosher supervision from KVH.
KVH Kosher (the main kosher certifying agency in New England and Boston region) clarifies as follows:
Kupel’s Bakery is not a Jewish owned enterprise and is not subject to the Laws of Shabbos. Therefore, following established KVH policy the ownership may decide to open on Shabbat.
Kupel’s remains fully certified at the highest standards of Kashrus and remains Pas Yisrael.
The owners are fully committed to kashrus & mashgichim continue to have full access at all times including Shabbos.
