The owners of the high-end restaurants in the 5 Towns, Doma Land + Sea and Cork & Slice, are in process of opening a chef-driven, fast-casual restaurant in Cedarhurst, in the former location of Hapina Grill on Cedarhurst Ave (around the corner from their existing restaurants) named Streats Food + Drink.
These restauranteurs are committed to opening “Streats” (think “street” + “eats”) with the same high standards as consumers have come to expect at both Doma and Cork & Slice. Streats will aim to use quality ingredients, provide exceptional service, and offer unique gourmet street food for all to enjoy in the revamped 75-seat eatery.
The menu will highlight “gourmet international street food” in three different ways:
- Composed Plates – diners will have an option to choose one street food cuisine (potential examples can include Mexican burritos, Asian ramen, Israeli shwarma, or American burgers) + one salad (potential examples can include beans, hummus, babaganoush, etc.) + one side dish. This is a way that diners can have fun customizing their plates with cuisines from around the world.
- Sandwiches – there will be a few sandwich options available, always with at least one chicken, one beef, and one vegetarian option, with the options always changing.
- Chef Specials – fully composed dishes, always with at least one chicken, one beef, and one vegetarian option, with the options always changing.
Streats is intended to be a cheaper option to its sister restaurants, with an average per person price of $13-$26.
The restaurant is expected to open within the next 3 months.
Streats will be under the kosher supervision of the Vaad of the 5 Towns.
