Midtown Manhattan’s Shuk Falafel Set to Close This Friday

This week is your last chance to grab some falafel, shwarma, or sabich at Shuk Falafel on W37th st. off of Broadway.

The shop next door, Broadway Burger Co., is remaining open and kosher.

Both restaurants are under the kosher certification of the OK.

  • There are lots of kosher restaurants closing. Some , like Va Been, have been around for years and became a little “old hat.” Probably ended the lease and couldn’t afford a much higher rent. But many others like shuck falafel and Kureiji are very new. When they fold I wonder if they opened with unrealistic expectations. Is it better to have fewer but more viable kosher places than many that collapse.
