We checked out this place back in February as the restaurant was setting up but now The Living Room, located in Hewlett (5 Towns), Long Island, has opened. A Bukharian / Middle Eastern restaurant with a relaxed vibe, the space is set up with a mix of couches and tables, with the space doubling as a lounge / bar.
Their menu features Tandori bread, fresh hummus, pickled veggies, lagman soup, lamb chops, whole branzino, pargiyot and lamb skewers, and more.
If you’re looking to find The Living Room on Broadway in Hewlett, the signage for the restaurant still shows “Istanbul”, the previous non-kosher restaurant. However, the restaurant lists its hashgacha (Vaad of the Five Towns) in the window.
Note: The certificate you posted indicates that the supervision is only good through June 30, 2017.
Yeah, the pic is from Feb.
Is this restaurant like some Russian/Bukharian restaurants with loud music, dances and happy crowd or more like Middle Eastern hookah lounge, only with food?
