A fire early on Saturday morning (3/29/14) will delay the opening of brand new Albany kosher restaurant, Terra: Pescetarian International Cuisine, for at least a month if not longer. The kosher vegetarian + seafood restaurant was to open this week and fully expand its menu after Passover. Now, the restaurant will be forced to re-renovate after a fire that started in the apartment above the restaurant.
Outside of a a couple eateries that serve kosher food at SUNY Albany, this will be the only kosher restaurant in the Albany / Capital District area, and the only kosher restaurant between the Monsey area and Montreal, a 5.5 hour stretch up I-87 that is void of kosher eateries, and will remain so until Terra officially opens post renovations.
Terra will serve a variety of international cuisines while serving the vegetarian and kosher communities (and even the vegan community with a raw food menu) of NY’s Capital District.
The restaurant will be under the supervision of Vaad Hakashruth of the Capital District.
Note: We’ll post an update when Terra is set to officially launch post renovations.
