For those of us who work all the way downtown in the financial district of New York, a kosher restaurant closing is a sad day. So when Essex on Coney Downtown closed, it reduced our options significantly.
Replacing “Essex” will be a new restaurant called “Good Fellas” at 17 Trinity Place. And even though the type of cuisine is still unknown, it already has kosher supervision from the Orthodox Union (OU), which isn’t surprising considering their offices are directly above the new restaurant.
Good Fellas is set to open by or close to Labor Day 2011.
H/T to Koshertopia for the announcement.
