Yelp launched a wordmap showing the hot spots where certain words are used in a selection of 14 major cities, with only NYC showcasing the heatmap for “kosher” (odd considering the vast amounts of Kosher restaurants in LA, Paris, and Miami). For whatever reason, the map doesn’t show anything in Long Island or Staten Island.
What’s interesting is the relatively light coloring over Borough Park & Williamsburg. Likely due to the low Yelp usage by the local Ultra Orthodox communities.
