Kosher families making a day of it at the Jerusalem Aquarium have had thin food options on site, and the newest arrival changes that. Mula Aquarium is a new dairy café (opened earlier this year) operating inside the aquarium in the Malha area, opposite the Biblical Zoo, and it brings a full, sit-down eating experience to a spot that draws steady kosher crowds year-round.
A Sister to Mula Botani
Mula Aquarium is the second location of Mula, following Mula Botani next to the Jerusalem Botanical Gardens. That original café built a devoted following among Jerusalem kosher diners, and it comes from the team behind Adom, one of the city’s longstanding restaurants. The new aquarium branch carries the same concept into a completely different setting.
Grab a Tray and Build Your Plate
Mula is not a café where you order off a menu and wait. You take a tray and choose from an abundant spread that refills and rotates throughout the day. Everything is fresh, everything changes, and the lineup you find on one visit looks different on the next. That format rewards repeat trips and makes it easy to feed a table of kids with different tastes without anyone waiting on a kitchen ticket.
What Is on the Table
The spread runs from golden pastries and serious sandwiches to fresh salads, colorful vegetable plates, and hot dishes that shift with the season and the chef’s mood. The signature move is the creative focaccia program, with combinations like truffle mushroom that you will not find at a standard kosher counter. On the sweet side, expect cruffins, maritozzo, basque cheesecake, and rotating cakes and cookies. Eating at the Aquarium
The location is half the appeal. You are eating inside a working aquarium next to one of Jerusalem’s most popular family attractions, which makes Mula Aquarium an easy stop to build into a day out.
