The Jersey Shore kosher dining scene just added a serious sit-down Italian option. CASA By The Shore opened this summer at 232 Norwood Ave in Oakhurst, bringing elevated dairy Italian coastal cuisine to one of the most established kosher communities on the East Coast. It’s the kind of opening that fills a real gap: a full-service Italian restaurant with an upscale atmosphere that’s built for date nights, family celebrations, and business meals alike.
The concept is Italian coastal dining, and the room matches the ambition. Think warm pendant lighting, clean modern lines, and an open kitchen anchored by a wood-burning brick oven that fires the restaurant’s artisan pizzas. The vibe is polished but comfortable, the kind of place where you’d bring out-of-town guests without having to over-explain the kosher piece.
The Menu
The menu covers all the bases a kosher dairy Italian should. Starters include Spinach Ricotta Gnudi (ricotta dumplings in a light butter sauce), Eggplant Fritters with house tomato sauce, and a Roasted Tomato Crostini Caprese. On the pasta side, there’s Penne alla Vodka, Gnocchi with your choice of pomodoro, vodka, or creamy mushroom sauce, a Spicy Rigatoni in tomato cream sauce, and Mushroom Risotto with Arborio rice and parmesan. The Pesce section adds fish dishes to round out the menu, including a seared yellowfin tuna over citrus-herb purée. Salads are a strong suit too: the Casa Chopped Salad with romaine, radicchio, roasted corn, chickpeas, and fresh mozzarella pearls tossed in a house red wine vinaigrette is the top-rated item so far.

CASA is BYOB, which is a smart move for this crowd. Bring a bottle of kosher wine and the bill gets a lot friendlier for what is otherwise upscale pricing. The restaurant also has an event space that accommodates up to 120 people, making it a viable option for Shabbat weekends, bar mitzvahs, and corporate gatherings. Lunch and brunch service are available as well, so this isn’t just a dinner destination.
