Monsey has no shortage of kosher dining options, but a four-course, all-you-can-eat Korean barbecue and hot pot experience run by one of the most recognizable names in kosher cooking is a different category entirely. The Tables at Fireside, a private dining concept operating out of the Fireside Kosher space on Route 59, is now open and already has a two-month waiting list.
What to Expect
The Tables at Fireside is a prix-fixe, reservation-only experience built around four consecutive all-you-can-eat courses. It runs through Fireside Kosher, the established kosher steakhouse that has been a centerpiece of downtown Monsey dining for years, with Chef Uri Elbaum leading the culinary side.
The meal kicks off with ten different small appetizers arriving at your table within 45 seconds of being seated. That is not a typo. Course two is hot pot, described by the team as nothing like a standard broth-based soup. Course three is the centerpiece: Korean barbecue featuring an rotating spread of steak, short ribs, filet mignon, duck, and chicken, all grilled tableside. The fourth and final course is dessert, including ice cream, also all-you-can-eat.
Pricing is $150 per person before tax and gratuity, which covers all four courses including water. Cocktails are available and billed separately at the end of the meal.
Chef Uri Elbaum
If the name Chef Uri Elbaum sounds familiar, it should. YeahThatsKosher covered Elbaum’s appearance on Fox’s Hell’s Kitchen, where he represented the kosher world on a national stage. Originally from Buenos Aires, Elbaum built his culinary career from the ground up in the United States and became the executive chef behind several notable kosher restaurants including The Butcher’s Steakhouse, Primavera, and others in the Deal, NJ area, as well as Evita Steakhouse in Chicago, before bringing his skills to Fireside in Monsey.
Getting In
This is not a walk-in situation. The Tables at Fireside requires a minimum of four guests and is open to diners aged 16 and up. The team reports a two-month waiting list, so early contact is strongly advised.
