Java Nut, a new coffee and eatery in Fair Lawn, recently launched under a soft opening. The new coffee shop serves baked goods, coffee and juices.
The restaurant is family-owned by Rochi and Israel Abehsera. After moving to Fair Lawn, the couple noticed their town missed a one-stop shop for kosher, Cholov Yisrael coffee and bagels.
Following a setback from covid, they traveled and toured different coffee shops to find what they liked and learn more about the process. The Abehsera family learned about the different kinds of tastes, brewing processes and the aromas behind coffee beans, eventually becoming certified baristas.
Java Nut takes inspiration from the architecture the couple discovered while touring coffee shops. In addition to coffee, Java Nut added panini sandwiches including the Avocado Melt, Tuna Melt, Vegetable Melt and Cheese Melt.
It is located at 22-18 Morlot Ave in Fair Lawn and is Cholov, Pas and Bishol Yisrael. Soft opening hours are 6:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. Sunday – Thursday.
