For the last many years, the Machane Yehuda Market and the surrounding neighborhood has been known for its incredible street food scene. You can spend hours perusing the market and trying new places and you’ll still probably never get to them all.
New on the scene is a restaurant called Machane Asada, and it keeps to a pretty simple menu. Diners can choose from Wagyu schnitzel, plate iron steak, Asado, chorizo, or eggplant, to be served either in a challah bun or animal style, ie: on a bed of fried potatoes. The sweetness of the challah with the savory beef sounds irresistible, and will certainly be on my list for next time I’m in the holy city.
A few cocktails also grace the menu, making the restaurant a perfect spot for casual dinner and drinks.
