Ama La Vita has confirmed an updated kosher certification structure, transitioning to Mehadrin supervision under Rabbi Avrhom Marmorstein. This change replaces the restaurant’s previous kosher supervision, which had been provided by the local Chabad. That Chabad supervision is no longer active, prompting the restaurant to establish new oversight to maintain and strengthen its kosher standards.
The move to Rabbi Marmorstein’s Mehadrin supervision reflects a formal restructuring of the restaurant’s kashrut authority and ensures continued compliance with established halachic requirements for ingredient sourcing, food preparation, and kitchen operations.

All Pastries Now Under CRC Supervision with Cholov Yisrael and Pat Yisrael Standards
In addition to the new primary supervision, Ama La Vita confirmed that all pastries served at the restaurant are now under the supervision of the Chicago Rabbinical Council, also known as the CRC. These pastries meet Cholov Yisrael and Pat Yisrael standards, ensuring that dairy ingredients and baked goods comply with stricter kosher production requirements.
This update clarifies the sourcing and certification of baked goods offered at Ama La Vita and aligns the restaurant’s pastry program with CRC-certified suppliers operating under recognized kosher supervision.
