“REN” Reopens: A Kosher Culinary Experience in the Heart of Brooklyn

Brooklyn’s kosher fine dining scene just got a major upgrade—REN has officially reopened under new ownership, keeping its signature modern approach to kosher cuisine while continuing to push culinary boundaries. helmed by its original chef, ensuring a seamless blend of creativity, precision, and artistry that sets it apart.

REN opened not long ago, back in 2023, and was highly acclaimed by the diners who went, even if that venture was not successful. The restaurant has been purchased and taken over by a group dedicated to keeping REN’s excellent food and elevating the other components of the restaurant into one of NYC’s premier fine dining experiences.

A Kosher Dining Experience Like No Other

From the moment you step into REN, it’s clear this is not your typical kosher restaurant. With a refined ambiance and an emphasis on technique-driven dishes, the restaurant is elevating what it means to dine kosher in New York City. While REN isn’t necessarily aiming for Michelin recognition, its attention to detail, stunning presentations, and elevated flavors position it as a restaurant that could one day earn acclaim beyond the kosher world.

Menu Highlights

REN’s reopening brings a carefully curated menu designed for those who appreciate complexity in both flavor and presentation. The menu showcases a balance between small plates, bold entrées, and indulgent desserts, all crafted with precision and a modern touch. Some menu highlights include but are not limited to:

  • Hamachi – Sashimi with verdant herbs, toasted almonds, and a chive oil-infused broth.
  • Beef Tataki – Seared beef with fresh parsley, crisped pita shards, and a Tabasco-infused chive oil.
  • Long Island Duck – 14-day dry-aged duck with apple confit, cabbage ravioli, and duck jus.
  • Iron Steak – Served with baby beets, sweet baby carrots, white beet cream, and beef demi-glace.
  • Duck Truffle Gnocchi – House-made gnocchi in a velvety cauliflower cream with black kale.

To round out the experience, the dessert selection is equally refined, featuring items like its non-traditional “cheesecake” or its lemon cream.

An Elevated Cocktail Program

REN also boasts an impressive cocktail menu with well-balanced, creative drinks that complement the food. Some standout selections include:

  • Strawberry Fields – Vodka, strawberry, lemon, and honey chrysanthemum.
  • REN Sour – A refined take on the classic whiskey sour with Malbec.
  • Somewhere in Tropics – A tropical blend of rum, coconut, lime, chocolate, and orange blossom.
