A new kosher Israeli street food restaurant recently opened in the Mission Valley of San Diego. Hamitbach originally started in the Chabad of Dowtown San Diego, but moved recently to better cater to its growing Israeli and kosher-keeping population.
Hamitbach offers a fast-service restaurant with a casual ambiance and offers typical Israeli dishes like shawarma, kebab, schnitzel and falafel. All entrees are offered in either a pita, laffa/baguette or a plate and include salads, a side and a pita.
It also offers unique options such as Asi’s Dish, which is kebab and merguez with grilled onions and Mediterranean spices in addition to pulled beef asado, which is slow-cooked beef with caramelized onions and shawarma seasoning.
Hamitbach is kosher certified by Vaad Harabanim and is located at 5664 Mission Center Rd., in San Diego. Hours are Sunday – Thursday 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Friday until 3 p.m.
