1st Ever Kosher Boba Tea Shop opens on Long Island: YAAAS Tea

YAAAS Tea has 9 locations across Long Island, but they’ve just received kosher certification on their Great Neck location, making it the first official kosher-certified Boba Tea (aka Bubble Tea) shop on Long Island. (While other kosher restaurants or eateries have served Boba previously, we believe this is the first authentic and dedicated Boba shop on Long Island. We have previously seen Bubble Bam Cafe in Brooklyn within the last ten years, but that didn’t last).

YAAAS Tea’s Great Neck location has opened in the heart of the business district and the Jewish community in town. The shop’s non-kosher chain has been voted as the best bubble tea on Long Island for the last 4 years 2021-2024.

Menu items include bobas, teas, coffees, and desserts including: Brown Sugar BOBO, Iced Pumpkin Pie Brûlée, hot milk teas, all flavors of cold milk teas, various coffee cold brews, hot and iced coffees and lattes, iced teas, and baked sweet items.

What is Boba?

Not the Star Wars character: Boba tea, also known as bubble tea, is a Taiwanese drink made with milk, tea, water, sugar, and tapioca pearls. The tapioca pearls, also known as “boba”, are chewy and glossy, and are made from starches, brown sugar, and water.

The restaurant’s tagline is “Fresh Boba: Every Hour on the Hour” ensuring fresh boba/bubbles for your tea.

Since the restaurant just became kosher, their hours of operation are still in flux. Expect opening hours of Sun-Thurs 11:30am – 8 or 9pm; Fridays until 1 hour before Shabbat starts; and opening Saturday nights one hour after Shabbat ends.

YAAAS Tea in Great Neck is kosher-certified by the VHQ. No other YAAAS Tea location is kosher-certified at this time.

The kosher location can be found at: 62 Middle Neck Rd. Great Neck, NY.

YAAAS Tea is available via UberEats, DoorDash, and GrubHub — BUT you must make sure that you’re ordering from the Great Neck location to obtain kosher-certified products.
