Crunch Café recently opened its doors in the Rutgers Hillel building in New Brunswick, NJ, its “College Ave” campus.
The café is designed to serve as a space for students to gather, study, and enjoy a variety of kosher and vegetarian food options. This addition to the Hillel building aims to create a welcoming environment for the Jewish community on campus.
Crunch Cafe is a project of Rutgers siblings: an alum and current business school student: “Miriam, a Rutgers University graduate with a passion for baking, teamed up with her brother Buzzy, a current Rutgers student, to bring one of their dreams to life by establishing Crunch Cafe. Miriam’s expertise, gained through her academic journey at Rutgers and baking, coupled with Buzzy’s fresh perspective as a Rutgers Business School student, creates a dynamic duo that brings innovation and energy to their new cafe venture. Crunch Cafe, born from the Rutgers community, promises a unique blend of flavors and a vibrant atmosphere, making it a go-to spot for both students and locals alike.”
One of the key features of Crunch Café is its commitment to providing kosher and vegetarian food options. The café’s menu includes a range of items, such as salads, sandwiches, and snacks, to cater to diverse tastes and preferences.
In addition to serving as a dining venue, Crunch Café also functions as a social space for students. The goal is to foster a sense of community within the Rutgers Hillel building, providing students with a comfortable and inviting place to connect with peers. This aligns with the broader mission of Hillel to create a supportive and inclusive environment for Jewish students on campus.
