The owners of the relatively new Citron & Rose in Merion Station, PA (aka Philly suburbs) are in process of securing a new locale for a dairy restaurant somewhere on Montgomery Ave – seeking to launch in January 2014 (according to the manager at C+R).
While Citron & Rose is an upscale eatery (perhaps the nicest in the Philly area), The Dairy is being planned as a family friendly / casual cafe, offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner (closing ~9pm) serving: pizza, salads, coffee, sandwiches, omelets, bagels, and more. They plan on keeping the restaurant open 6 days a week, and opening Motzei Shabbat.
Additionally, they plan on having a market/commissary section selling both dairy & meat products, as well as potentially catering within the local community as well.
Glad of this because I like dairy and have friends in that area that we visit from time to time. Going next month and will likely eat in their other place.
my hometown! my mom loves Citron and Rose I haven’t tried it yet but it’s so exciting to see the kosher restaurant scene grow there
So exciting! My old stomping grounds! They need all the good kosher places they can get.
