Kosher travelers flying through South Florida’s two busiest airports can now leave the sandwiches at home. Certified kosher grab-and-go meals are now stocked inside both Miami International Airport (MIA) and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), sold at airport news shops past security and giving kosher travelers a real meal option before boarding.
The meals come from Kosher Eats, the Fort Lauderdale-based kosher food company behind grab-and-go meal programs for airports, hospitals, cruise lines and universities. The company first brought its Grab N’ Go lineup to FLL over the summer and has now expanded to MIA.
The arrival is a turnaround for MIA, which stopped stocking kosher meals in 2023. Kosher food at South Florida’s airports goes back to 2013, when FLL first began offering kosher meals, followed by MIA in 2016. The FLL kosher stand later closed in 2017, and until now the only kosher option reported at MIA had been Bunnie Cakes’ cupcake vending machines near gates D21 and G15. Winter travel season sends tens of thousands of kosher travelers through both airports every year.
