La Bottega, the kosher Italian-inspired sandwich shop in Los Angeles’ Pico-Robertson neighborhood, has closed earlier this year. The restaurant’s Google listing now marks the business as permanently closed, bringing an end to the sandwich shop that opened in spring 2025.
YeahThatsKosher covered La Bottega’s opening in May 2025, when its menu centered on deli sandwiches with Italian ingredients and accompaniments. The restaurant brought a meat-focused Italian deli format to Pico Boulevard, with sandwiches served on rolls and focaccia rather than a menu built around pizza and dairy pasta dishes.
An Italian-Inspired Kosher Deli
La Bottega’s opening menu included more than ten sandwich creations spanning meat, fish, and vegetarian options. Sandwiches came with a choice of Italian pesto pasta salad or house-made potato chips, making the sides part of the sandwich order.

The Godfather combined shaved prime rib, crispy frites, arugula, caramelized onions, Bottega sauce, chimichurri, and stone-ground mustard butter on toasted focaccia. The Roma Reuben paired hand-carved pastrami with warm sauerkraut and spinach hollandaise, while the Panino Tritato featured salami, pepperoni, and turkey pastrami with vegetables and Italian vinaigrette.
The lineup also included a meatball sub, Il Tonno, Il Supremo, and La Pico. The menu later included a Chicken Caesar Wrap and a Tuscan Cobb Salad, extending the deli lineup beyond sandwiches while keeping chicken and other meat dishes central to the restaurant’s offerings. A vegetarian sandwich, La Gia, incorporated pistachio pesto butter, crispy zucchini, roasted vegetables, Chianti garlic almonds, fig jam, and vegan parmesan. Those combinations were part of the restaurant’s approach to an Italian-style sandwich menu within a kosher meat setting.
Connections to La Gondola
La Bottega was a sister restaurant of La Gondola, connecting the sandwich shop to another kosher restaurant in Los Angeles. The business also featured The Bacon Guys, a line of beef “bacon” products with flavors including candied, chile limon, candied sriracha, buffalo, and Cajun BBQ. The deli and the packaged beef products appeared together under the La Bottega brand.
The restaurant occupied the former Pico Kosher Deli space, linking the shop to an earlier chapter of the neighborhood’s kosher dining scene. La Bottega operated at 8826 W Pico Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90035. Its closure concerns this Pico-Robertson restaurant location.
