A new kosher Moroccan restaurant has opened in the Boca Raton area. Nagila Moroccan Cuisine takes a different route from the area’s steakhouse-heavy meat dining scene, with Moroccan soups, couscous, salads and grilled dishes alongside Shabbat takeout. It is a casual, small dining room with roughly seven or eight tables, rather than a formal night-out restaurant.
The menu ranges from simple starters to shareable platters, and the restaurant serves both weekday meals and Shabbat takeout.

Menu: Moroccan dishes, skewers, and couscous
Starters include Moroccan cigars ($18) served with tahini, pickled vegetables and the restaurant’s signature Nagila sauce; Fibi pastels ($16), fried potato patties with pickled vegetables; fried cauliflower ($14) with sweet chili sauce; wings ($18), fried or grilled; and a fried eggplant fan ($15). Hummus comes three ways: topped with tahini, a boiled egg and cooked chickpeas ($16), with sauteed mushrooms and caramelized onions ($18), or with shredded beef asado ($22). The soup list runs from harira ($9), the Moroccan soup of chickpeas, lentils, tomatoes and warm spices, to a semolina soup called chesho ($9), a cannellini bean soup called shoit ($7), and split pea, lentil and vegetable soups. Cold salads include matbucha, Moroccan beet salad and Israeli salad.
Grilled skewers of seasoned beef kebob ($28), pargiot chicken thigh ($26), spicy merguez sausage ($26) or entrecote steak ($34) come with Frena bread, grilled vegetables and a choice of white rice or mashed potatoes. Couscous comes two ways: a Couscous Marrakech with vegetables ($46), with chicken or beef added for $8 or $10, and a Royale Couscous Tanzia ($64) topped with caramelized onions, raisins, dried fruit, toasted almonds and walnuts, with beef or vegetables. A $155 grill platter combines kebob, pargiot, merguez, shredded beef and a 16-ounce ribeye with fries and grilled vegetables.
Larger plates include grilled branzino ($38), garlic-and-herb salmon ($28), lamb chops ($72) and ribeye in 16-ounce ($47) or 22-ounce ($67) sizes, plus slow-cooked shredded beef asado ($28), meatballs in red sauce ($26) and a Jerusalem-style meat mix ($28). Burgers run from a classic beef burger ($22) to the Nagila burger ($32) topped with shredded beef, harissa aioli, preserved lemon aioli and grilled hot peppers, and a kids menu lists chicken fingers or meatballs with rice ($13). For dessert, there is malabi with crushed pistachios and rose-water syrup ($10), warm mofleta flatbread with honey ($8), sfinj doughnuts ($8) and a parve vanilla-halva ice cream ($10).

Shabbat takeout
The separate Shabbat takeout menu includes roasted chicken with olives, minute steak with caramelized onions, Moroccan-style branzino and salmon, beef asado and stuffed artichoke hearts with beef. Sides include couscous with vegetables, saffron rice, noodles called intros, and potato or mushroom bourekas, while salads range from matbucha, Moroccan carrots and baba ganoush to hummus, tahini, coleslaw, potato and egg salad, jalapeño salad and sweet pepper salad. Orders are placed by phone.
