Last year’s closing of Manhattan’s Tevere authentic Italian kosher restaurant was a disappointment for many. Little time was wasted in attempting to reopen the restaurant, and we are finally ready to see this new incarnation: TrasTevere, which will be having its grand opening in Brooklyn next week, on December 10th. TrasTevere replaces the former Cafe Venezia, on Coney Island Ave in the Midwood section of Brooklyn.
Like it’s Manhattan origins, the new iteration of “Tevere” aims to be a classy, upscale, Glatt Kosher authentic Italian restaurant, transporting diners to Italy with both its menu and interior design.
TrasTevere is named after a beautiful Roman neighborhood, just outside Rome’s Jewish Ghetto. For a true Italian ambience, the restaurant has five themed dining rooms, each featuring a different neighborhood or Italian region.

The menu will transport you straight to the streets of Rome, thanks to executive chef Rudy’s thirty plus years of experience. You can enjoy Roman fried artichokes, fresh pasta and risotto, their famous veal, chicken, and fish dishes packed with Italian flavors.
In addition to the restaurant, TrasTevere has event space in its Amalfi Dining room, set up for a private elegant, social, or corporate events with seating up to 100 people. This dining room has a private entrance (separate from the restaurant), pre fixe menus, and customized event coordination.
TrasTevere is located at 1391 Coney Island Ave, Brooklyn NY. The restaurant is kosher certified by the OU.
TrasTevere is open Monday-Thursday: 5pm-11pm, Saturday nights: 7pm-11pm, and Sunday: 3pm-10pm.
