BREAKING: New Kosher Greek Restaurant “OPA” Opening in 5 Towns

OPA Greek Cuisine Arrives in the Five Towns, Opening March 2025

A brand-new kosher Greek dining experience is on its way to Hewlett, replacing a former non-kosher eatery. OPA, which also has a much-anticipated (but still pending) location in Manhattan, will bring its refined Mediterranean menu and modern ambiance to Long Island’s Five Towns this year.

The Space & Opening

Set to open in March 2025, the Hewlett location will seat around 70 guests indoors, with al fresco dining available during warmer months. Valet parking and plentiful nearby spaces will make it an ideal choice for a refined night out.

The Menu

OPA’s offerings—modeled after its soon-to-launch Manhattan flagship—center on Greek classics, presented with a kosher twist:

  • Traditional Greek Starters & Small Plates:
    • Dolmades (hand-rolled grape leaves filled with rice & dill)
    • Saganaki (lightly fried kefalograviera cheese with lemon & oregano)
    • Pikilia (a mix of tzatziki, spicy feta, skordalia, hummus, melitzanosalata, taramasalata)
    • Opa Chips (crispy zucchini & eggplant chips with tzatziki)
    • Halloumi Cheese Tempura (served with yuzu hollandaise espuma)
    • Zucchini Fritters (kolokithokeftedes with lemon yogurt)
  • Salads & Cold Dishes:
    • Mykonian Salad (tomatoes, cucumber, peppers, onions, olives, capers, carob rusk, Mykonian feta)
    • Sea Bass Ceviche (with avocado, kiwi, jalapeño, crispy prawn)
    • Tuna Tartare (yellowfin tuna, avocado mousse, crispy potato)
  • Entrées:
    • Cauliflower Steak (vegetarian-friendly, served with sweet potato purée and paprika mayo)
    • Royal Dorade (presented with olive oil mashed potato and asparagus)
    • Creste de Gallo (pasta in a beet-infused Alfredo sauce, with gremolata and fried basil)
  • Fresh Fish “By the Pound”: Flown in daily from Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Florida, and New Zealand, then charcoal-grilled and deboned. Varieties include Fagri, Lavraki (Loup de Mer), Tsipoura (Royal Dorado), Branzino, Black Sea Bass, and New Zealand Snapper—each offering unique flavor profiles, from mild and flaky to sweet and aromatic.
