Smoked on Chai BBQ has recently launched in Columbus, Ohio, bringing a fresh and exciting addition to the city’s dining scene. This new kosher barbecue truck is an initiative by the owner of Smoked on High BBQ, aiming to tap into the underrepresented kosher barbecue market in Columbus.
Positioned in (and under the kosher supervision of) the Congregation Torat Emet parking lot at 2375 E. Main St. in Bexley, this venture offers authentic Texas-style kosher barbecue with a unique Midwest twist.
Smoked on Chai BBQ serves a range of smoked meats and bakery items, ensuring each dish is prepared on-site to maintain quality and adherence to kosher standards. The menu includes:
- • Smoked meats such as brisket, beef ribs, turkey, and chicken.
- • Bakery items sourced from the local Matt’s Bakery, adding a sweet touch to the savory selections.
The truck operates under a unique model to balance demand with quality:
- • Food Truck Pop-Ups: Open every other Monday, starting July 8th, from 11 AM to 7 PM at Torat Emet.
- • Bulk Pre-Order Pickups: Available every other Friday, beginning July 12th, from 11 AM to 5 PM. This service caters specifically to pre-orders for Shabbat, with a cutoff for orders set on the preceding Thursday at 3 PM.
The initiative also includes a “Smoke and Shabbat” campaign, which allows customers to pre-order large and bulk quantities of proteins to pick up on Fridays, perfect for Shabbat preparations.
