rishon-kosher-vilnius-lithuania-barEarlier this summer, the capital of Lithuania received its first kosher restaurant: RISHON (how apropos!).

The beautiful kosher restaurant, located near the center of Vilnius, offers guests kosher meals throughout the week, including Shabbat (see below). Many patrons have lunch at the restaurant on Fridays and grab food for Shabbat before they leave.

Rishon’s menu includes Mediterranean, traditional Jewish, and Lithuanian dishes such as Samogitian pancakes, Zeppelins, and Chicken cutlet Jurate. Click here for the full menu.

The restaurant also offers a large kosher spirits and wine list, plenty of freshly squeezed juices, vitamin cocktails, and a wide range of desserts.

Rishon is open daily (except Shabbat), from 7:00am – 10pm Sunday – Thursday, and until 4pm on Fridays.

Breakfast is served until 11:30am and the business lunch menu is served until 3pm. The restaurant would open on Shabbat with a group’s prior reservations. Rishon may also be open on Saturday nights depending on the time of year, contact them in advance to confirm.

Kosher supervision is under Rabbi Pinchas Goldshmidt (Chief Rabbi of Moscow) and Rabbi Kalev Kreilin from Riga, Latvia.
