A new artisanal Italian shop is now open in the Lakewood area (Tom’s River). Miele Artisanal Gelateria, an authentic gelato and sorbet store, officially opened Sept. 29, with La Mossa Pizzeria Romania, a kosher Italian Pizza restaurant next door, soon to open after the holidays.
Miele draws inspiration from classic Italian flavors and techniques from around the world, growing quality ingredients to that carry vibrant color and flavor into every bite. The store sees itself as a bridge between classic and artisanal methods, made by a kosher facility in New Jersey.
All dairy products include Cholov Yisroel milk to ensure its gelato and sorbet are accessible to all kosher customers.
Flavors include something for all ages with options like cookies and cream, cotton candy, and smores with graham crackers and marshmallows on the creative side. More sophisticated flavors include chocolate hazelnut, pistachio, apple pie, tiramisu and blueberry creme brule. It also serves baked goods such as biscotti, French macaroons and eclairs.
The store sells gelato and sorbet either in a cone or a bowl, in addition to pre-packaged options for those who want to store it at home. It will also be offering delivery in the not-too-distant future.
La Mossa takes a similar authentic Italian approach to its pizza offering a mix of tradition and modernity in a warm, inviting atmosphere.
Both stores will be located in “The Row” at 2158 Lakewood Rd in Tom’s River, New Jersey. Its soft open hours are from noon – 10 pm, and will be expanding to opening at 8 a.m. following the hard launch. It is kosher certified by KCL.
