After a three-plus-year hiatus due to a devastating fire in December 2021, Cheryl-Anns’ of Brookline, a beloved Boston-based kosher, pareve bakery, has officially reopened. Under the ownership of Cheryl Moore, the bakery at 1010 W Roxbury Pkwy, Chestnut Hill, MA, has undergone a complete renovation, boasting everything from new floors and ceilings to state-of-the-art electrical, plumbing, ovens, and display cases.
Moore managed to retain most of her staff throughout the rebuilding period, and loyal customers have eagerly awaited the bakery’s return, often inquiring about the reopening. As a mainstay in the Jewish community since its inception in 1985 by Moore and her sister, Ann, Cheryl-Anns’ is expected to welcome back patrons.
Certified by the Rabbinical Council of New England, the bakery’s operating hours are as follows:
- Sundays: 8 AM – 4 PM
- Monday to Wednesday: 8 AM – 5 PM
- Thursday and Friday: 7 AM – 7 PM
- Saturdays: 7 AM – 5 PM
Cheryl-Anns’ menu spans a wide range of bread, cakes, cookies, pastries, and savory items, with a focus on traditional and specialty offerings:
- Bread: Varieties of Challah (plain, sesame, poppy, whole wheat), Rye Bread (with caraway seeds, light, dark, marble), Pumpernickel Raisin Bread, and Honey Oatmeal Wheat Bread, among others.
- Cakes: Featuring Braided Challah in various flavors, Pan Challah, and specialty cakes including the popular Chocolate Ann and Mocha Ann.
- Cookies and Turnovers: Options range from Chocolate Chip, Lentil, and Sugar to Apple and Raspberry turnovers.
- Pastries: Danish available in lemon, raspberry, and non-dairy cheese, along with a selection of muffins and other sweet treats.

The bakery is also preparing to offer wholesale options, further expand its menu, and will soon start taking special orders again, including gluten-free, vegan, and nut-free customizations.
Cheryl-Anns’ will be closed for Passover, but plans are underway to set up wholesale operations.
