College of Charleston Set to Open Kosher Dining Hall

Kosher keeping students in South Carolina can now rejoice. The College of Charleston in Charleston, SC, is set to open a kosher vegetarian dining hall later this year inside the Sylvia Vlosky Yaschik Jewish Studies Center. The cafeteria will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and will serve a variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes. The menu will be comprised of organic and local ingredients. It will also be open to the public for a la carte options.

Upon entry the dining hall will feature a wall of Jerusalem stone and seating for 75, with the certification to be provided by the Kosher Commision Charleston (KCC), a group of local orthodox rabbis. The cafeteria is set to open Hannukah time in the new Sylvia Vlosky Yaschik Jewish Studies Center.
