As travelers face increasing uncertainty regarding commercial flights from Israel, many are seeking alternative ways to leave the country. While these methods are not officially endorsed and come with considerable risks, several routes have emerged based on what other travelers have shared. These are not services being provided, but awareness-based guidance for those exploring every possibility.
🚗 Through Egypt
This option involves overland and air travel:
- Drive to Eilat
There is no public transportation to Eilat currently. You must secure private transport. - Cross into Egypt via the Taba Border
- Expect basic questioning and allow at least 3 hours for the crossing.
- The Taba crossing is reported to be open now but may close unexpectedly.
- Drive to Sharm El Sheikh
- The drive takes about 2 hours.
- It’s advised to arrange police or private security escort in advance.
- Fly to Europe from Sharm El Sheikh
- Pre-book flights before leaving Israel. Airlines flying from Sharm include Turkish Airlines, Pegasus, and others.
- From Europe, fly onward to your final destination.
Note: Use only verified, secure transportation within Egypt. The Israeli government does not endorse this route, and security risks are real.

⛵ Through Cyprus
This is a slower but potentially viable option involving maritime travel:
- Travel to a port (Haifa, Tel Aviv, or Eilat)
- Only private boat charters are currently available.
- No public ferries are in operation.
- Charter a boat to Cyprus
- Expect a ~20-hour journey by sea.
- Prices are reportedly high and availability limited.
- Fly to Europe from Paphos or Larnaca
- Airlines to search: TUS Airways, Wizz Air, among others.
- From Europe, continue travel to your intended destination.
Note: Cyprus is considered relatively safe, but be sure to book outbound flights before leaving Israel. Emergency cruise options are being discussed, but are not available as of now.
