Coronavirus Florida Pesach / Passover

No Vacation Rentals Allowed in Florida for 2 Weeks – includes over Passover Holiday; Disney & Universal Closed

Florida governor DeSantis has issued an order barring all rental companies (like Airbnb) from renting homes and rooms to vacationers for the next two weeks. The ban will not affect hotels or motels. This is inclusive of Pesach, as the holiday starts in the next week and a half.

Despite criticism, DeSantis has refused to issue a statewide lockdown limiting residents’ movements that states like California, New York, Illinois and others have done. Instead, he has preferred to let local governments decide. He has ordered some statewide measures such as closing bars and gyms and limiting restaurants to takeout and delivery. State parks have been closed.

DeSantis’s move comes as state’s death toll reached 34 Friday with 2,765 testing positive in the state. Almost 500 people are hospitalized.

Additionally, Disney World announced it will remain closed indefinitely. The park closed in mid-March with plans to reopen next week, but Disney said on Friday that it and California’s Disneyland would remain closed.

Universal-Orlando has said it will remain closed until at least April 19.

PLEASE STAY HOME.
