Fans heading to a Florida Panthers game or a show at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise have a kosher option inside the building. Kats Kosher, located by Section 112, is open for every Panthers home game and for select concerts and special events, serving kosher food and beer.
What’s on the Menu
The stand serves hot arena food, with burgers, hot dogs and fries joining the grab-and-go selections from Kosher Eats, the South Florida kosher food company whose ready-to-eat meals are also stocked at Miami International Airport (MIA) and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). Kosher Eats supplies sandwiches, salads and snacks to airports, college campuses, hospitals and cruise lines, and it brought its Grab N’ Go line to the arena with the start of the current Panthers season. Beer is sold at the stand as well.
A Kosher Stand With History
Kosher food at the arena is not new. The venue’s kosher stand was already running back in 2013, when the building was called the BB&T Center and the kiosk stood near Section 127, also under ORB supervision. The arena has changed names a few times since then, and the kosher stand now runs as Kats Kosher by Section 112, a nod to the Panthers’ Cats nickname. Kosher concession options have been growing at major venues, including Chickies at Madison Square Garden and Smash House at Barclays Center. Elsewhere in South Florida, the ORB also certifies kosher stands at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens and at the Kaseya Center in Miami by Section 120, plus a kosher sports food cart at loanDepot park.
